After a week or two with my Brompton C Explore, 6 gears, I believe I can foresee that there is not going to be all that much maintenance work to do on this bike; almost certainly not enough to justify buying a bike stand so I thought I would see what I could do with my bench vise and a piece of wood.

The nuts of the gear tensioner came loose and I watched several videos on how to adjust the Sturmey-Archer hub. By carefully adjusting the height of the wood block in the vise, I was able to get the rear wheel off the ground so I could change gears but leave the front wheel on the ground to provide stability.

BTW, under Flair: what do NBD (No Big DeaL?) & LPT stand for?
